In the June issue of the journal Rockdelu x , review past projects of Ana Blandiana , by Silvia Pons : How real is reality when you do not decide how to live, when you have circumstances imposed by force and is one who controls your life? In a situation of deprivation of liberty as a dictatorial regime that denies the right to be oneself, the border between real and artificial are such blurs even more difficult to discern the truth from falsehood.
Ana Blandiana (Romania, 1942) is well aware, but it is saddened by the blindness of some. With each story past projects, his first book of prose, translated into Castilian, sad opens a window to the miseries of life under the Ceausescu dictatorship, hunger and fear. He complains that the fear of reprisals has overridden the will of the individual and thus its ability to react to injustice. Nobody trusts anyone or move a finger for others, too busy trying to survive. The arrests at night and deportations to concentration camps, islands surrounded by land, have led to a dehumanization of relationships that spreads like a plague that everything fades. With the deteriorating consciousness, people are afraid to question the facts, buried in an artificial existence that was imposed as the only valid and true.
To alleviate the extreme hardships of daily life under a dictatorship, the author invokes angels and demons, involving the stories in an aura of mystery, sprinkled with elements of fantasy, spooky, making them to charge a new dimension filled with allegories . Reality and fantasy become confused to tell the disappearance of ancient rites and customs, the deterioration of the individual, the loss of mysticism and religion without spare the reader none of tragedy and drama. The dream is allied with the real and the raw lyricism with really nothing to describe a kind that, unfortunately, is more nightmare than dream.
