You, framing with your height,
the huge, huge mountains,
form the great architecture
of these mountains, as brave face.
These words define the printing has casued me to contemplate, explore, enjoy the mountains of Beceite in Matarraña of Teruel. And that is the three-day stay, avoiding the failures, has not been wasted.
The landscape stone, the courage that we expect, we were offered in widescreen by the bulk of Morella, where they arrived for lunch in front of a cozy wood stove.
Eager to reach your destination, enter the region by Monroyo, with the clock on four sides, followed by Power Back, with its medieval tower pagoda shaped china, just Valderrobles interviews (which would return to next day) and `at last ... there it was: Beceite!, nestled beside a hill and surrounded by the rough waters of the river Matarraña. Abu Zait was the founder and who gave the name: medieval bridges, chapels, old mills, walls, gates ... and many cottages.
Ours was perfect: new, with all the facilities necessary, free wifi, terrace, fireplace, heating ... a bargain!.
Walk around the town
Beceite trace is a medieval village. Stone houses, narrow alleys, up to seven sites. Yes, very few people in the streets at any time.
A magnificent surroundings, with the roaring river of clear water, fantastic framing and everything clean, neat, bright ...
Cabrera Conquering the forts
Near the village, along the river waters above, are the craggy mountains, some defenses of the Carlist War.
must be willing to see them, to challenge a really sharp drop. Rifle low walls, drains batteries and on top, controlling the whole region, the fort of Cabrera.
whether vertigo was not much amused myself watching the scene, but the truth is worth the effort. Here was developed the mystery of the glasses mysterious disappearance, turning back, and finally fruitless search quasi miraculous appearance in the hands of a careful rider who found them.
The Parrisal
Upstream, we went in search of the birth of Matarraña. The valley is becoming more closed up preventing the passage of vehicles. There was time to attack the gorge, having previously visited a duly paintings were barred ... the sea must, strange to say.
We reached the first bridge of logs that are used to penetrate the wall and na na!. The flow rate was such that prevented the passage, under penalty of getting wet feet, knees and more. A bit disappointed we got on our feet and a versatile one, I proposed to undertake the climb a Pr to take us to contemplate the canyon from above.
An hour and a half of steady climbing, sometimes narrow passages, precipices on either side, a strong wind ... we had set as a target but called the Balanguera. But this again, did not appear. One turn, one, we will continue a bit, the next hill ...
the end, I sat down and said that it was not. The women, most Arriscado, continued to give the more fortunate, having me almost three quarters of an hour waiting for his return. The hosts regrouped, we started the long descent to the car.
Valderrobles
Beautiful village, capital of the region. More medieval is impossible. At the top, overlooking the castle of the bishops, natural lords of the town.
whole town is a spectacle of fine stones, houses, palaces, Renaissance town hall, a tavern, inn, of the old .. The visit to the castle, bound. Have the grace to offer a free audio guide that lets you quietly find out the whole story.
pity we had to compete with a fierce and outrageous INSERSO "group? Group housewives? They had no idea how to behave in society.
La Pesquera
The last stage was walking along the course of another river, the Ulldemó that led us to the wilderness area of \u200b\u200bLa Pesquera.
was nice If you walk around the Matarraña, no less so by the second river. Lofty mountains, dense forests, limestone ... very similar to Catalan Montserrat crystal clear ... .. a joy!.
best, the utter loneliness in the morning we were all surrounded by water everywhere: trails to right, left and outside sources as high, vultures watching us wondering if we would, perhaps lunch.
As technological innovation in these trails, I launched the new tracking system for our walks in the mountains with Twitter, which allows information on line and at the time of the events and details of the event Wonders .....¡ art!
Matarraña Goodbye, Farewell Beceite!
The memory of water, the memory of trees, blue sky the memory, the memory of the mountain .... Unable to express
in my own words the feeling I had to leave these parts, volume of Antonio Machado, another lover of nature, these short verses:
And, like cordial,
good tree, maybe soon I remember,
outbreak in my life when hope
that seems a little to your leafy green ...
